In collaboration with Open Hands Initiative, Global Post & GroundTruth Initiative with the support of Canon Europe.

Ten young Burmese journalists and ten young American journalists will be working together under the auspices of the Open Hands Initiative on a media training program with Philip Blenkinsop, Denis Grey, Gary Knight of VII, Mark Laban, Charles Sennot and Michael Sullivan.

As Myanmar implements democratic reforms and begins to encourage a free press, the country finds itself in a moment of historic change. As part of the still unfolding story of Myanmar, Open Hands Initiative and The GroundTruth Project are pleased to announce a reporting fellowship in Burma. The reporting fellows will be working with veteran correspondents, photographers and videographers. These groups of reporters will set out across the country looking for the important stories to tell and interesting people to profile as the country makes a dramatic transition to democracy.
