As part of the Leica Akademie VII Sessions series, Jocelyn Bain Hogg will be teaching a workshop in Italy, “Composing Pictures for a Cohesive Narrative.”

The workshop aims to give participants greater awareness in the process of composition of the images to be able to create a coherent narrative. Topics covered include: the construction of a visual language, understand the use of different perspectives in the narrative, the “key blocks” to build a story, develop critical thinking in relation to your project, build an awareness of the concepts that are to be traferire, manage the limitations of the environment, develop personal work ethic.

The first day will be devoted to the analysis of the portfolio and the background of each participant, followed by a theoretical session. On the second day each participant will be given a specific assignment to create a session outside shots, which will then be analyzed and discussed with the teacher in the final session of the workshop.

All participants will be given a Leica M camera (type 240) or Leica M Monochrom and lens to be used for the workshop. Participants should bring with you to provide an adequate number of SD memory cards and a laptop for image editing.
