Journalism under Fire returns to Santa Fe, New Mexico on November 14-15, 2019. This year journalists have been invited to answer the question, “How does technology shape the truth?”
Topics to be explored include the intersection between social media and fake news; the ways in which artificial intelligence (e.g. through deep and shallow fakes) is increasingly influencing the public domain; how China’s use of technology will have massive ramifications for the U.S.; and how digital forensics has opened up a new line of investigation, using crowd-sourced video and Big Data to reconstruct truth.
On Friday, November 15 at 1:55 PM, Ron Haviv will give a presentation entitled “How has the Camera Shaped the Truth?”
