featuring Ed Kashi
January 30, 2014, 6:30 pm
The Annenberg Space for Photography, Los Angeles

On January 30, 2014, Ed Kashi will give a talk titled ‘It’s Personal,’ in which he will reflect on his career as a photojournalist, filmmaker and educator dedicated to documenting the social and political issues that define our times. Kashi’s innovative approach to photography and filmmaking produced the Iraqi Kurdistan Flipbook with MediaStorm in 2006.  An eight-year project completed in 2003, Aging in America: The Years Ahead, has created one of the most extensive visual archives on aging in the United States.

The talk will be hosted by the Annenberg Space for Photography as part of their Iris Nights Lecture Series. During the presentation, Kashi will discuss his recent work including personal projects, National Geographic photo essays, multimedia, advocacy films and iPhone imagery. This event is produced in conjunction with the exhibition “The Power of Photography: National Geographic 125 Years,” on view through April 27, 2014. To learn more visit our exhibitions listing. The Irish Night series lectures are offered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.
