As part of the Leica Akademie VII Sessions series, Tomas van Houtryve will be teaching a workshop in Italy, “Unlocking Inspiration.”

The workshop will focus on how to bring out the creative potential of each participant. Students will learn how to find inspiration outside of photography, then channel it in a process-oriented way to achieve better photographs.

The first day will be devoted to the analysis of the portfolio and the background of each participant, followed by a session in which Tomas will present cases and examples of how he generates creative ideas and turns them into major photographic projects.

On the second day each participant will be given a specific assignment, the results of which will then be analyzed and discussed with the teacher in the final session of the workshop.

All participants will be given a Leica M camera (type 240) or Leica M Monochrom complete with a 28mm, 35mm or 50mm to be used in the workshop. Participants should bring with you to provide an adequate number of SD memory cards and a laptop for image editing.

The course will be held in English and is open to a maximum of 10 participants
