Through this intensive one-month, short course program developed by ICP-International Center of Photography in collaboration with CAMERA and Leica Akademie Italy, students will learn all the steps necessary to make a visual story that will make impactful imagery. The Documentary Seminar will guide the student through each step in realizing their project idea that may ultimately incorporate multi media, audio and data visualization. Learning to research, to gain access, and subject trust in a sustainable way is key to any photographer’s success. Through intensive editing sessions and exercises, students will see their work improve—developing style and meaning in their photography. Upon completion, every student will have a strong body of work and be prepared for subsequent steps that can propel them to the next level as a professional documentary photographer.

Each student will receive individualized attention to learn digital workflow, audio, and multi-media as well as a choice to take various elective workshops on Business Practices, New Media and Ethics. Students will learn to edit and sequence their work.

Every student should bring their own digital DSLR camera, laptop and external hard drive and be prepared to work hard on a story of your choice in multi media, video or in print form.

This is a full-time program offering classes and shooting every day including weekends. Students should be prepared to work full-time while enrolled in this program. The application submission must contain: 20 images and/or video or Multi media with a statement of purpose, a proposed project statement that is achievable during this program and a CV.
