ALL AT ONCE — A PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP WITH ALL VII PHOTOGRAPHERS
In June of 2016, VII photographers will convene in Barcelona, Spain for their annual meeting. On this occasion, from June 9 – 13, 2016, the agency will hold a unique 4-day photography workshop with Eyes in Progress in an old Spanish Villa set in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park.
Participants will be fully immersed in a visual storytelling educational experience with 40 to 60 other students and will work side-by-side with VII Photo Agency photographers. They will learn how to build a documentary reportage by covering an editorial story. VII photographers will also help to refine students’ storytelling and story composition techniques by analyzing real-life situational problems and by sharing tips on images analysis, editing and caption writing. Most of all, this workshop will help students discover their own visual language.
Applications will be open until April 25, 2016. The fee is €1050, and an early bird rate of €1000 is available before March 8, 2016. A special price of €550 is offered to citizens of Spain.
THE LOCATION
Villa Maria is an old Villa, an oasis of calm set in the natural park of Collserola with incredible views of the city at your feet; suited for who are looking for something different, greener and away from the city noise. Villa Maria was built as a romantic villa for a famous Catalan opera singer in 1900. It has a beautiful garden, spectacular views over Barcelona and is just 20 minutes from the city centre with the Funicular Railway running next to the house.
Once you’ve applied to the workshop, you will be sent a dossier with recommendations on your stay in Barcelona.
THE PROGRAM

The 4-day workshop will be organized in different sessions:
Masterclass (1h30, projection room)
VII photographer talks about a long-term project he has worked on.
Specific Topic (1h30, projection room)
VII photographer talks about a topic he has a deep understanding and professional practice on.
Collective Editing & Sequence session (1h, projection room)
VII photographer works with a group of students on editing and sequencing on one or several student series (with projected screen in a classroom or with prints).
