Roger Anis is an Egyptian documentary photographer and visual researcher. He has been working as a photojournalist in Egypt since 2010, documenting the changes and unrest in the country using photography and moving images to tell social human stories. Recently, his focus has been on telling stories about bodies of water, from the Nile River in Africa to the Mediterranean, extending to the Netherlands, where he obtained his master’s degree in 2024 from the Royal Academy of Arts in the Hague. His focus is on the Nile River, myth, and rituals in shaping the understanding of water and human connections to bodies of water.
Roger’s work has been exhibited and published in Egypt and internationally in different festivals and museums, including Foto España Festival, The Hermitage Museum, Institute Du Monde Arabe, The New York Times, TIME magazine, Le Monde, and De Volkskrant.
