support our work

The VII Foundation is committed to in-depth journalism covering the crucial issues of our time. In a world where beliefs and actions are increasingly out-of-sync with facts and realities, our response is to ensure the truth is documented to enable communities worldwide to make evidence-based choices about the challenges impacting their lives.

We invite you to support The VII Foundation by making a one-time or monthly donation, or by including us in your estate plans using the tools provided by our partner, FreeWill.

Why donate to The VII Foundation?

Founded in 2001, The VII Foundation is the first and only non-profit organization dedicated to providing long-term tuition-free media education for the Majority World and underrepresented communities. Over the last four years, we have trained over 1,200 new voices in journalism from more than 100 countries in nine languages, with more than half identifying as women.

All our training for the Majority World is free, with every student’s costs paid for by the foundation, because we believe building the capacity of local storytellers is essential to producing a better and more comprehensive understanding of our complex world.

There are many ways to join our existing partners and support the growth of our educational initiatives so that we can extend our work’s reach. Your donation helps us to expand our educational programs and continue training visual journalists as they develop sustainable careers built on ethics, integrity, and good practice. We believe this is vital to trustworthy journalism and democracy worldwide.
