ABOUT

The VII Foundation organized a three-day photography workshop in Sarajevo and Lukomir, led by Éric Bouvet. Participants delved into large-format photography, sustainability, and ethical storytelling, coinciding with Bouvet’s exhibition, Elevations, at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Élévations, an exhibition by Éric Bouvet, was displayed at the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina from November 13, 2024, to January 5, 2025. The exhibition featured large-format photographs that showcase the majestic landscapes of the Alps. While the mountains are timeless symbols of natural beauty, Bouvet’s images also provide a subtle commentary on their vulnerability due to climate change and environmental degradation.

As part of the exhibition program, Éric Bouvet led a photography workshop from November 9 to 12, 2024, focusing on large-format photography, sustainability, and ethical storytelling. The workshop, held in Sarajevo and Lukomir, offered participants the opportunity to learn directly from Bouvet through a mix of theoretical sessions at The VII Foundation campus and hands-on fieldwork.

On the first day, participants began their day at our campus before heading to Trebević Mountain, where they were introduced to Bouvet’s techniques and equipment. On the second day, they ventured into the remote village of Lukomir, Bosnia’s highest and most isolated settlement. Guided by Bouvet, they documented the village’s rugged beauty, traditional stone houses, and the resilient way of life shaped by Lukomir’s unique climate and rich heritage. The workshop also included an introduction to the darkroom, where participants learned to develop the photos they had taken.
