Sur Tolosa Orquera

Sur Tolosa Orquera (They/Them) is based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Their work in cultural management, storytelling, and teaching is shaped by the intersection of art, research, territory, and gender. Since 2019, they’ve worked with creators across Latin America, supporting the development and dissemination of visual and transdisciplinary storytelling projects—with a particular focus on creative processes, collective action, and situated stories.

They have organized storytelling events (exhibitions, panels, discussions, residencies, trainings, or competitions) in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Perú, Uruguay, Costa Rica, and Mexico.

In 2023, they joined the National Geographic Society as Regional Manager for Latin America. In this role, they support the search for new projects in the region, review grant applications, and strengthen the Latin American community of Explorers (NGS grantees) by organizing storytelling or transdisciplinary events, and fostering interactions between the Explorer network and regional collaborators to generate long-term impact.
