“A Decent Home” Makes its NYC Premiere

Sara Terry’s documentary about mobile home parks and the wealth gap, A Decent Home, will make its New York City premiere at DOCNYC on November 16 and 17. A limited number of online screening tickets are also available from November 17 – 28.

Six-and-a-half years in the making, the film is the only feature-length documentary ever made about mobile home parks. A Decent Home asks, “When housing that’s on the lowest run of the American Dream is being devoured by the wealthiest of the wealthy, whose dream are we serving?”

A Decent Home addresses urgent issues of class and economic (im)mobility through the lives of mobile home park residents who can’t afford housing anywhere else. They are fighting for their dreams — and their lives — as private equity firms and wealthy investors buy up parks, making sky-high returns on their investments while squeezing every last penny out of the mobile homeowners who must pay rent for the land they live on.

A Decent Home will make its world premiere at the Denver Film Festival on November 6, 7, and 11. Follow @adecenthomefilm on Instagram for more news about the film.
