For “The Flight,” a body of work from the Ukrainian – Polish border at the start of the Russian invasion, Espen Rasmussen has been awarded the title of “Photojournalist of the Year” in the Bartur Photo Award 2022.
Ron Haviv received a Highly Commended award in the “Photojournalist of the Year” category, also for his work in Ukraine.
Espen Rasmussen also received a Highly Commended acknowledgment in the “Faces of Humanity” category for “The Escape Route of Death,” a project documenting the efforts of the MSF search and rescue ship, the Geo Barents, in the Mediterranean.
