Nature Through Her Eyes Festival 2022 opens in Cape Town, South Africa on November 17.
In its second edition, Nature Through Her Eyes focuses on recording sounds in nature with a masterclass workshop on sound & bioacoustics by Dr. Tess Gridley and her team, in collaboration with Sea Search.
Nature Through Her Eyes festival, held in Cape Town South Africa, will host four days of workshops, discussions, and screenings in celebration of women’s work in the natural world. As well as a series of talks on writing, structure, production, and other filmmaking tools held by leading women in the industry.
This year’s keynote address will be held by Dr. Paula Kahumbu – named in the FT’s Most Influential Women of 2022 – with discussions focused both on technical aspects, and on addressing the obstacles women face when furthering their careers in the industry. And daily screenings will show both feature-length documentaries and shorts directed and/or lensed by women including the award-winning “Honeyland”, co-directed by Tamara Kotevska.
