On Saturday, October 18, at 1700 CEST, Jovana Bozović, a journalist and prominent environmental advocate from Montenegro’s Center for Bird Protection and Research (CZIP), will give a talk at this year’s OKO Foto Festival. She will discuss her efforts to save Long Beach in Ulcinj, a vital biodiversity site in Europe that is currently under threat from long-term leasing to international investors. The talk will address topics such as multispecies urbanism, biodiversity protection, and the role of grassroots activism in conservation efforts.
About Jovana Bozovic
Jovana Bozović work combines journalism, documentary, and creative practice to explore ecology, multi species urban space and feminism. She is currently an Expert Associate for Advocacy, Education, and Communications at the Center for the Protection and Research of Birds in Montenegro. In this role, she coordinates the movement opposing the leasing of Montenegro’s Long Beach, bringing together over 30 organizations to protect one of the country’s most valuable ecological sites. Jovana holds a degree in Media Studies and Journalism and is currently pursuing a master’s in Comparative Politics.
