Francesca Greco is an expert on international water politics with a Ph.D. in Water and Food Politics from King’s College London. A student of Professor Tony Allan, she has been a member of the London Water Research Group since 2003. A United Nations volunteer at UNESCO in Ghana, she has been a consultant for WWF, FAO, and various NGOs working in the field of water and food politics for over 20 years.
From 2011 to 2017, she served the United Nations at WWAP UNESCO as a “Gender and Water officer.” In addition to various academic publications, she is co-author of the volume “The Water We Eat,” which has already reached more than 25,000 copies in digital downloads.
From October 2023, she will be a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the University of Bergamo and will deal with water, drought, agri-food exports, and gender issues in the Italian water sector, with a project aimed at providing decision-making tools to the country’s policy makers.
