Hector Guerrero is based in Mexico City and is responsible for El Pais’s audiovisual content and web projects in Latin America. In this role, he coordinates teams of filmmakers, editors, illustrators, and design developers. Hector is also a documentary photographer and filmmaker who has worked for 15 years covering different issues across the Americas.
Hector has won many awards, including a scholarship from the Inter-American Press Association SIP for the realization of documentary work in 2004; a grant from the PCDA project to carry out the 2008 North-Independence-South project; a FONCA Young Creators Grant to carry out the project Collateral Postcards of Destruction 2014; a POYLATAM Award 2019; and a GABO Award in 2020 and 2021.
