Isabella Finholdt

Isabella Finholdt is a Brazilian freelance photographer and photojournalist based in São Paulo, Brazil. She holds BA and MA degrees in Fine Arts – Photography from USP (University of São Paulo) and has been developing long-term documentary projects about her own community since 2018.

She contributes to national and international media outlets, covering human rights, politics, youth, culture, and socio-environmental issues. In 2023, she received a fellowship from CCP – IFA – Germany, during which she stayed with Zeitenspiegel agentur for 3 months and later lived in the country for a year, contributing to writers and local media.

In 2024, together with journalist Miri Watson, she received a young talent prize of DSW – Deutsche Stiftung Weltbevölkerung for their research reportage about FGM – Female genital mutilation in The Gambia.
