Joe Robinson is the author of “Think Outside the Cell: An Entrepreneur’s Guide for the Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated.” He is currently writing a memoir, “Losing Mama: One Family’s Ongoing Recovery from the Crack Epidemic.” He is the director of reentry services at Appellate Advocates, a nonprofit law firm that provides high-quality appellate representation to indigent clients convicted of felonies. He is a member of the advisory board of the Parole Preparation Project, which provides critical advocacy and direct support to currently and formerly incarcerated people serving life sentences and seeks to transform the parole release process in New York State.
