Mumin Gul is a visual storyteller from Kashmir, working at the intersection of documentary and fiction. Through narratives, he explores the social and political realities of the conflict in his homeland. His work reflects on the identity and collective memory embedded within these spaces, positioning himself as a witness.
Gul holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communication. He graduated from Pathshala South Asian Media Institute’s Film and Television programme as a KAS Fellow and is currently enrolled in Pathshala’s Photo Media programme.
Mumin has also received the prestigious 2025 W. Eugene Smith Grant and was runner-up for the 2025 Alexia Human Rights Grant in the Student category
