Lou Proud

Lou Proud is the Director of Leica Gallery London, the Mayfair exhibition space for the legacy photography brand Leica Camera Ltd. Lou is responsible for a full schedule of exhibitions, including concept, curation, and sales, as well as strategic support to build and develop the gallery’s profile.
 
For nearly three decades, she has worked with some of the most eminent names in photographic history – her first job was at Magnum Photos, London, working alongside Henri Cartier-Bresson on his sweep of London exhibitions for his 90th Birthday celebrations. She also worked with Magnum photographers Eve Arnold, Josef Koudelka, Martin Parr, and Peter Marlow.
 
After Magnum Photos, she worked for Focus gallery, founded by Dorothy Bohm, and then for contemporary art and photography dealer Eric Franck.
Subsequently, she became the Associate Director at Atlas Gallery and was Head of Photographs, London for Phillips de Pury & Co/Phillips Auctioneers for over seven years.
 
Lou curated and produced the catalogue From Dada to Vogue collages and photographs by Erwin Blumenfeld for Osborne Samuel Gallery and worked as Senior Photographs Specialist for Qatar Museums.
 
Lou has been part of the Leica team since November 2018.
