On Friday, July 11, at 1100 CEST at OFF Festival Arles, contributing photographer to The VII Foundation, Ilvy Njiokiktjien, along with project co-director Ron Haviv, will present USA 3.0, a book and exhibition that captures and interprets American history in real-time, marking this historical period and preserving a record of the past, present, and near future for generations to come.
They’ll delve into the making of the images selected for the book and photographed by twenty contributing photographers to The VII Foundation and members of VII Community.
Combining visual journalism and words, the collaborative project U.S.A. 3.0 provides a commentary on the recent past, present and near future, capturing the challenges of immigration and drug policies, campaign drama, human rights, a changing climate, and the tension between urban and rural populations — big issues brought to life through up close personal stories.
The Daily Iowan Documentary Workshop director, VII Foundation contributing photographer Danny Wilcox Frazier, has led the educational program and has served as editor and co-director of the project with The VII Foundation co-founder Ron Haviv.
