Alexandra Boulat’s “Bursts of War” is on view at Durev Events in Paris from April 20 until May 10, 2022. The exhibition was initiated by Lucie Saada, Alexandra Boulat’s niece, who, upon seeing images of war in Ukraine with its besieged cities, its disemboweled buildings, and Ukrainians fleeing by the thousands, made the connection with the photos Alexandra had made during the break-up of Yugoslavia. A revolted look of a young 20-year old-woman in front of the absurdity of a world that only knows how to repeat itself.
