The interdisciplinary project PRESENT PAST, presented by the Goethe-Institut, reflects on cultural-political relationships and neighborhoods shaped by different state structures throughout history.
The engaging project unfolds as a series of artistic responses to the theme of past/present. Established authors from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, North Macedonia, and Serbia led workshops and guided local artists across various disciplines.
To commemorate the mentorship of visual practitioners Dijana Muminović and Mitar Simikić, both VII Academy alums, by the award-winning photojournalist Ziyah Gafić, their work will be exhibited for the first time in Sarajevo, courtesy of the Goethe-Institut Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The exhibition opens on Thursday, October 19, and will include an artist talk with both practitioners, Ziyah Gafić and Kuma International.
