The collaborative film California: Paradise Burning by VII Photographer Ed Kashi and Matt Black, has been selected for screening at the 37th Annual Telluride Mountainfilm Festival. The 2015 festival will take place in Colorado, May 22-25th.
Originally produced for and published on the New Yorker, California: Paradise Burning gives a new perspective on the extreme drought that has been plaguing California since 2012. This “historically severe drought that has affected over 90% of the Golden State. Residents continue to reel from the consequences as another rainy season has left the snowpack well below average, the reservoirs dangerously low, and the cities, towns and agricultural communities jockeying for whatever water is left.”
