Franco Pagetti’s body of work Veiled Aleppo will be exhibited at Galerie Vallois as part of the Saint-Germain-des-Près Photo Festival. Returning to Syria in early 2013, Pagetti found sheets lining the devastated streets of Aleppo. While sheets were hung before the war to protect against harsh weather, they have become a symbol of the ongoing conflict, serving as shields to protect civilians and the Free Syrian Army from view of Bashar al-Assad’s security force snipers.
