Beimeng Fu is a video journalist based in Shanghai. She produces, shoots and edits short documentaries and feature explainers on news events, social and cultural issues as well as emerging trends and figures in China. Before moving back to her native Shanghai in 2021, she worked as a Visual Media lecturer at a Hangzhou-based university program and freelanced from Beijing for ABC News, Sixth Tone, South China Morning Post, the Washington Post, among other outlets. Beimeng graduated from City University of New York’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2016 and worked as a text reporter covering China for BuzzFeed News
