Carla Rosorius was born and raised in the South of Germany. She studied Social Science and Art History at Humboldt University of Berlin. After graduating, she visited Ostkreuzschule für Fotografie to develop her understanding of Photo Editing.
Carla gained her first work experience as an intern at Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazine, followed by established magazines and newspapers, including DER SPIEGEL and DIE ZEIT.
Since 2015, Carla has been working for GEO, and in 2023, she was appointed as Director of Photography.
Her interest and focus is on portrait photography, reportage, but also nature, wildlife and science photography.Her personal interest lies in long-term projects that focus on contemporary or social issues.
She is a member of several juries.
