Carlos Herrera, is co-founder of Divergentes, an independent Nicaraguan media organization. He studied social communication at the Universidad Centroamericana de Managua and holds a postgraduate degree in strategic communication.
Before founding Divergentes, Carlos Herrera worked at Nicaragua’s leading media outlets, such as La Prensa and Confidencial.
Carlos has also been a photographer and correspondent for various international media organizations, including El País, Reuters, BBC International, and The Washington Post, among others.
Carlos has received numerous national and international awards, including the Excellence in Journalism Award from the SIP and the Ortega y Gasset Award. Since 2020, he has been responsible for Divergentes’ financial decisions, supported by a team of accounting and financial advisors.
