Carnegie Council for Ethics in International Affairs
170 East 64th Street

In the last three decades, Ron Haviv has covered more than 25 conflicts and worked in over 100 countries. He has produced an unflinching record of the injustices of war and his photography has had singular impact. For example, his work in the Balkans, which spanned over a decade of conflict, was used as evidence to indict and convict war criminals at the international tribunal in The Hague.

On December 14, the 20th anniversary of the end of the Bosnian War, Haviv will talk about his work in the Balkans and beyond, discussing his life as a photojournalist and the crucial role that photos can play.

Randall Pinkston, a correspondent for Al Jazeera America, will moderate the discussion.

The format of the event will be as follows:

5:45PM – Doors open
6:00PM-7:00PM – Conversation followed by Q&A
7:00PM-7:30PM – Reception
