Hector Guerrero’s project “Days of Absence,” is on view at the LUMIX Festival for Young Photojournalism in Hanover, Germany through June 24.
About the project: How does it feel, when a loved one is suddenly no longer there? In Mexico, people disappear every day, kidnapped by criminal gangs. In the last nine years, 30,000 have gone missing. The government looks the other way. Those who search feel abandoned. For them, these are years of tortured longing.
