This intensive two day workshop will take place June 29-30 2015 as a part of the Ragusa Fotofestival 2015. Geared towards professional photographers , video-makers, journalists and advanced amateurs, this workshop focuses on guiding students in the development of a photographic project in the long term.
The workshop will be punctuated by group discussions, individual assignments and review of projects. As new technologies influence the contemporary look and the evolution of photographic practice are some of Subjects to be covered through the examples of projects by Stefano De Luigi as well as the work of his contemporaries. During the workshop the class will discuss the transition of the photographic language to the multimedia platforms, the intersection between an editorial and a personal project and the need collaboration between different sectors. Participants will be required to overcome their limitations and boundaries, in order to advance to another level in your photography. Students will be asked to bring a photo project, new or old, that will be critiqued, developed and expanded. Students who have not yet created a project, can bring a series of images that they want to transform into a cohesive body of work. During this two-day workshop participants will be guided to discover the full potential of a photographic project through editing, critiques and group discussions and inspired materials.
