As part of the Leica Akademie VII Sessions series, Franco Pagetti will be teaching a workshop in Italy, “Exploring the Infinite Expressive Possibilities of the Photographic Media.”

The workshop aims to provide participants with the main tools to explore the infinite expressive possibilities of the photographic medium. Every good photograph captures a unique and unrepeatable moment and is a meeting, as ephemeral as perfect, including his own personal vision and the story you want to tell.

Pagetti will share with the participants as well as examples of their work experience staff that work of other photographers who have a vision and a non-traditional approach towards the photographic narrative, aimed to portray humanity through the stories of everyday life.

During the first day the teacher will explain the development of his work and how his perspective has changed since he started his business. We will discuss how to build a visual narrative using different styles, related or not to the traditional reporting, and how to pursue the development of a theme in the medium and long term. Participants will be invited to submit a personal portfolio that will be analyzed and discussed collectively.

On the second day each participant will be given a specific assignment to create a session outside shots, which will then be analyzed and discussed with the teacher in the final session of the workshop. The workshop will end with a session on how to edit and sequence their portfolios to maximize their impact.

All participants will be given a Leica M camera (type 240) or Leica M Monochrom complete with a 28mm, 35mm or 50mm to be used in the workshop. Participants should bring with you to provide an adequate number of SD memory cards and a laptop for image editing.

The course will be held in Italian, and is open to a maximum of 10 participants.
