Caption: Only a puddle remains along a dried portion of the Awash river as pastoralists herd their camels back to villages outside Logyia in Ethiopia's Afar region on Feb. 12, 2013. A massive concrete wall built in recent years diverted water from the Awash to support the expanding sugarcane industry in Logyia, impacting pastoralists who for millennia relied on the vital river source.
