Square Mile at Photoville Festival
Join us from June 1st during Photoville’s Opening Weekend Community Celebration for the inaugural exhibition of Square Mile, an initiative by VII Community in partnership with PhotoWings that showcases the significance of local stories in a global context.

Square Mile will be on view at this year’s Photoville in Brooklyn Bridge Park from June 1st to June 16th, 2024.

Square Mile is an initiative that presents diverse photographic explorations by members of VII Community. It is a geographic framework, signifying a local focus on spaces where personal, local, and global influences intersect. The projects explore how themes such as climate change, identity, history, legacy, migration, gender, and environment appear within a local perspective.

About Photoville
Photoville amplifies visual storytellers and connects them to a worldwide diverse audience through its free photo festival and year-round activation of public spaces and educational community programming.

The annual Photoville Festival is returning to Brooklyn Bridge Park and in all five boroughs of New York City, June 1-16, 2024.

Photoville remains committed to highlighting stories of hope, joy, and compassion, while honoring stories of adversity and heartbreak. By bringing these uniquely diverse perspectives to the city and the blocks we call home, we aim to elevate the power of visual storytelling by fostering empathy and understanding within our communities. This year, we will be hosting a series of free public programs and a specially curated exhibit to be announced, in our continued support of journalistic safety and conflict photojournalism.
