Michael Eko is a documentary photographer based between Indonesia and the Philippines. Working with media, civil society groups, and communities, he incorporates photography and visual media into a multidisciplinary approach to create change in society. He graduated with a degree in communication studies, studied at the ANTARA Gallery of Photojournalism, Jakarta, and received a fellowship from Konrad Adenauer Stiftung – Asian Center for Journalism in Ateneo de Manila. Michael began his photographic career while studying, and his work has been published in exhibitions, books, and other media by World Press Photo, The Washington Post, Climate Visuals, If Not Us Then Who, KOMPAS, Koran Tempo, National Geographic Traveler Indonesia, and others.
