This is the fifth episode of the journey into my archive – to see what I have, tell you about how the work was made, and give you some of the stories behind the images.
In this episode, I face something I have not wanted to look at for 30 years: my work from the break up of the former Yugoslavia. When we talk about the break up of the former Yugoslavia, from 1990-1991 onwards, we are talking about four or five civil wars closely connected to each other. It is a complex story, and, as a result, this is a much longer episode that I did in one take.
I have an emotional attachment to this work, and I must warn you that this episode contains some graphic images.
